On July 4, 2003 Minister Oskanian received a Canadian Parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Sarkis Assadourian, Head of the Parliament's Canadian-Armenian Friendship Group.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians discussed various aspects of Armenian-Canadian relations, including trade. The Minister called for greater activity in economic relations, as well as an expansion of the basic legal framework for greater cooperation. Minister Oskanian also stressed the importance of Canadian investments in Armenia and the activity of the Canadian International Development Agency. At the end of the meeting, upon the delegation's request Minister Oskanian described the current stage of the genocide recognition process as well as the Nagorno Karabagh peace process.
