Minister Oskanian received a delegation headed by Ambassador Heike Talvitie whose mission is work with the countries of the Caucasus to enhance democratic processes and regional cooperation.

Minister Oskanian stressed that for Armenia, it is important to work more effectively on the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the EU. He also invited the start of a public discourse and dialog on the future place of the Caucasus in Europe. Finally, the Minister welcomed the EU's role in encouraging greater regional cooperation. He expressed Armenia's readiness to work to reform the processes which will lead to greater democratization, including removal of the death penalty and the implementation of greater electoral reforms. They discussed other issues including press freedoms and legislative reform.
