Deputy Minister Shugarian Meets with Belgian Ambassador November 19, 2003 |

On November 19, 2003 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruben Shugarian
met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Armenia, Mr.
Andre Mernier. Ambassador Mernier, with residence in Moscow, had come
to Yerevan in order to participate in the First Preparatory Seminar
for the Twelfth OSCE Economic Forum.
The two officials stressed cooperation between the two countries within the UN and its various organizations. They also spoke about Armeniašs persistent path towards integration in European structures and the success of Armeniašs realistic diplomacy within various European programs. They also referred to the upcoming visit of President Kocharian to Belgium, to meet with the European Union leadership. Deputy Minister Shugarian and Ambassador Mernier noted the successful level of trade between Armenia and Belgium, due in large part to the presence of a significant Armenian merchant community in Belgium. |
