Minister Oskanian met with Georgia's State Minister Zourab Zhvania and Georgian Foreign Minister Tedo Japaridze

The two high-level Georgian officials were in Armenia for a one-day working visit.
Minister Oskanian welcomed the guests and expressed his appreciation of the high level of bilateral relations between Armenia and Georgia. He said that Armenia hopes that following the conclusion of the elections process in Georgia, that those relations would continue to grow and deepen. The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that Yerevan views Armenian-Georgian relations as the guarantor of the fragile stability of the Southern Caucasus. He explained that such positive relations would also preclude new divisive lines. Minister Oskanian said that the government of Armenia pays special attention to regional cooperation.

The Georgian State Minister said he shared the Armenian perspective, and also stressed the importance of the economic aspect of bilateral cooperation. The two sides pointed out that Armenia and Georgia are on the path to integration within European structures, and in that direction, the aspirations of the two countries coincide.
The officials explored prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as for Armenian-Turkish and Georgian-Russian relations.
