Question & Answer
Hamlet Gasparian, Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Answers Question by ArmenPress News Agency on Arrest of PKK Members in the Netherlands
November 16, 2004

Q: Some international media reported that in the framework of its anti-terrorism operation, the Dutch police arrested several members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party who allegedly were on their way to Armenia to engage in anti-Turkish operations. How would you comment on these reports?

A: We do not know what sources the Dutch media had that mentioned Armenia in relation to the arrest of the alleged members of the "Kurdish separatist movement"; nor do we know what the suspects told the Dutch police, but the mention of Armenia in that context is not just grossly unjustified, but also absurd.

There have been similar speculative comments in the past, promoting similar allegations. All have been unconfirmed and unfounded. Therefore, we assume these allegations too are of the same unserious category.
