Exhibition of sculptor Levon Tokmajian’s works in Calcutta

On 9 October an exhibition of sculptor, Levon Tokmajian’s works was opened in the exhibition hall of the Humanitar Seminary, which is on the grounds of St. Nazareth Armenian Church in Calcutta, India.

The exhibition was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in India, Armen Baiburdian. Representatives of Calcutta’s world of art and the Armenian community were present.

The sculptor, Tokmajian, is also visiting India for the erection of the bust of Armenian preist, Harutiun Shmavonian, and for the 210th anniversary of publication of the first Armenian magazine “Azdarar”. The programme has been initiated by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, Sergo Eritsian.

The grand opening of the bust of Harutiun Shmavonian will take place at the end of the year.
