"Miss Europe" is one of the most reputable beauty contests in the world. During previous competitions Armenian beauties had managed to place in the top fifteen, but this year "Miss Armenia" national agency expected Lusine Tovmasyan, the 18-year-old winner of "Miss Armenia 2003", to be in the top five. Lusine did place in the top five, placing a remarkable second in the contest, first place going to Miss Germany.

Lusine is the most recent Miss Armenia winner, as the contest has not taken place since 2003, and she has also worked as a model in the fashion industry for the past two years.
