Consuelo Vidal, the new UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia and also newly assigned to the post of UNDP Resident Representative, met today with Foreign Minister Oskanian. Minister Oskanian welcomed Ms. Vidal and reaffirmed Armenia's pleasure at the depth and breadth of cooperation with the UN. The Minister stressed that the nature of challenges have changed since independence, and therefore the nature of tasks will also change as progress is made, in order to make best use of available resources.

Ms. Vidal reiterated UNDP's readiness to work with the Armenian government to help implement the government's priorities.
