During the meeting, Minister Oskanian praised the activation of bilateral relations between Armenia and Belgium and the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Minister also mentioned the collaboration between Armenian and Belgian senators in the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.

In the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy, the two sides explored EU's cooperation with the countries of the South Caucasus, particularly with Armenia. They also touched upon Armenian-Turkish relations in the context of Turkey's EU accession process.

In light of Belgium's upcoming presidency of the OSCE (in 2006,) Minister Oskanian discussed recent developments in the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.
