Edward Nalbandian, Armenia's Ambassador to France takes part in the Francophonie Conference in Bamako

The Francophone Conference on Democracy, Human Rights and Liberties, headed by Abdou Diouf, Secretary General of the International Organization of the Francophone (OIF), was held in Bamako, Mali, on November 6-8. Edward Nalbandian, Armenia's Ambassador to France, participated at the conference among representatives of 63 countries. In his speech, Ambassador Nalbandian mentioned that the concepts of democracy and protection of human rights are secured in the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia, as well as in the Constitution. During the last 14 years Armenia has strengthened and developed these concepts. Armenia's commitment to deepen the process of democratization is manifested in its decision to hold a referendum on constitutional reforms. The most experienced specialists and organizations have been assisting Armenia's authorities during the entire reform process.

Ambassador Edward Nalbandian stressed that the positive outcome of the referendum would attest to Armenia's devotion to European values and democratic standards, human rights and liberties and will promote the country's further development.
