The Visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian to Egypt

From November 16th till November 18th Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibjanian was in Cairo to hold the sixth regular session of consultations on political matters between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Egypt.

On the first day of the visit Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit received Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibjanian.

During the meeting the two sides stressed their high appreciation for Armenian-Egyptian relations, underlining the importance of development of bilateral cooperation in all spheres.

Deputy Minister Gharibjanian highlighted the Armenian-Egyptian active cooperation in the framework of international organizations, particularly the balanced position of Egypt on Nagorno Karabagh issue. He expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian side's support in training the Armenian various specialists in the framework of technical cooperation fund with CIS states. Stressing importance of holding regular consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, Ahmed Aboul Gheit noted their significance for enhancing the positions on several international and regional issues.

During the meeting the two discussed forthcoming official visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia to Egypt, as well as several issues on Armenian-Egyptian intergovernmental joint commission's session.

On the same day Armenian-Egyptian political consultations were held in the Foreign Ministry of Arab Republic of Egypt. Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibjanian and Deputy Foreign Minister for European affairs Ashraf Rashid discussed wide circle of issues of bilateral relations. The two sides exchanged views on several international and regional issues.
