Armenian Honorary Consulate Opens in Mumbai

Harshad Mehta, Armenia's Honorary Consul in Mumbai, India, celebrated the opening of the Consulate there on November 28. In attendance was R.M. Premkumar, Chief Secretary of the Government of the State of Maharashtra.

Nani Oskanian presented a Special 10-year Residency Passport to the Honorary Consul, congratulating him on behalf of her husband, Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian.

Armenia's Ambassador to India, Ashot Kocharian, spoke of Armenia and Armenian-Indian bilateral relations and answered journalists' questions.

Harshad Mehta, an entrepreneur who has diamond-cutting operations around the world, and in Armenia as well, presented the Armenian Church of Mumbai with 500,000 Indian rupees (approximately US $11,000.00)
