The aim of the visit was to discuss with the Canadian community the further deepening of Armenia - Diaspora ties, as well as specific issues having to do with the implementation of a long-term program of multi-faceted development of infrastructure in Armenia's rural communities.

In Ottawa, Minister Oskanian met with representatives of community organizations and underscored the strategic significance of this program for Armenia.

The community representatives commended Armenia's efforts targeted at the economic development of Armenia and expressed willingness to participate actively in the program.

Later the same day, Minister Oskanian delivered a speech at a reception given by the Armenian Embassy in Ottawa, and answered questions.
