Minister Oskanian Meets with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Ambassador Peter Semneby

On July 24, Minister Oskanian received the delegation headed by Peter Semneby, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, in Armenia on a regional visit.

During the meeting, the discussion focused on European Union - Armenia relations and the European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan.

Minister Oskanian briefed Ambassador Semneby on the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process. In this regard, they exchanged ideas, and Ambassador Semneby reaffirmed the EU's readiness to contribute to that process.

They also discussed Armenia's relations with neighboring countries.

At the end, the two discussed the involvement of the European Union in the upcoming Parliamentary election in Armenia, and to make every effort to help make it just and transparent.

The delegation included Terhi Hakala, Ambassador of Finland to Armenia, representing the Finnish EU Presidency, Ambassdor Torben Holtze, Representative of the European Commission, and Ambassador and Heike Peitsch of Germany to Armenia.

A joint press conference followed the meeting.
