On welcoming the guest, the Armenian Minister assessed positively Armenia - United Kingdom relations and expressed Armenia's willingness to boost the bilateral cooperation, and suggested that the European Union's New Neighbourhood Policy offers the opportunity to do just that.

Speaking on the EU's Action Plan with Armenia, Minister Oskanian underscored Armenia's intention to implement the Plan with the same efficiency as the negotiations that were just concluded. To this end, the Armenian side hopes for practical assistance from the European Union and EU member states.

The British Minister of State presented the main objectives of his visit, at the same time underscoring the United Kingdom's continuing dialogue with the South Caucasus countries, as well as implementation of joint programs.

The two explored regional issues, Armenia-Turkey relations from the perspective of Turkey's EU accession talks, and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process.
