Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian meets Janez Lenarcic, the Director of OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights

On 19 November, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the Director of OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), Ambassador Janez Lenarcic who was in Yerevan on a working visit.

During the meeting, the issues related to the cooperation between Armenia and  OSCE/ODIHR were discussed.



Appreciating the ODIHR's role in promoting the protection of human rights and democratic principles, Minister Nalbandian stressed that Yerevan attached importance to the cooperation with the Office.

Ambassador Janez Lenarcic mentioned with satisfaction the productive cooperation with the Armenia's authorities and expressed gratitude to Edward Nalbandian for visiting the ODIHR's Headquarters in Warsaw. 



The two attached importance to the Office's assistance to both the
improvement of the election processes and implementation of the observer missions. It was emphasized that the discussions over the results and conclusions of the observer missions and is useful for the progress in that filed.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Lenarcic discussed the democratic reforms in Armenia and the steps that are being taken in this area. 

The Head of Armenia's Foreign Office invited the attention of the ODIHR's Director to the antiarmenian and hostile propaganda by Azerbaijan, pointing out that it obviously contradicts to OSCE norms.
